Private guitar instruction

Build skills.
See progress.

Individual instruction · Purposeful curriculum · Positive feedback

Guitar is a practical, expressive instrument with a place in many musical styles. Students can explore melodies, accompaniment, chord progressions, and rhythm while gaining the coordination required to play comfortably. Lessons can draw on the music a student already loves, but the underlying goal is lasting musical understanding—not simply memorizing one song.

Our structured, progressive teaching approach gives each student an achievable next step. Lessons connect finger placement, rhythm, ear training, and musical reading or chord charts as appropriate. Teachers can adjust the pace to the learner while providing clear feedback, practical assignments, and encouragement from one week to the next.

What students develop

A strong musical foundation.

Our lessons adapt to the student’s level while maintaining a clear direction.

01

Comfortable technique

Explore posture, hand positioning, fretting, picking or strumming, and smooth transitions without rushing past essential habits.

02

Chords and rhythm

Work on common chord shapes, chord changes, pulse, counting, and rhythmic patterns that make accompaniment sound steady and musical.

03

Songs and musicianship

Connect technical exercises to music the student enjoys while developing listening, musical structure, confidence, and expression.

Learning with intention

A progressive path,
week by week.

Our curriculum is a guide, not a rigid race. We revisit important skills, introduce new challenges when students are ready, and keep each next step achievable.

01

Get acquainted with the instrument

We discuss style preferences, prior experience, and the size and type of guitar that may be appropriate.

02

Learn useful first movements

Students develop basic technique, note or chord knowledge, and simple rhythm patterns.

03

Connect the building blocks

Short musical goals help students combine chords, transitions, timing, and songs a little more confidently each week.

04

Expand into personal interests

As skills grow, students can explore new styles, more complex songs, melodic work, and creative playing.

Who lessons are for

A place to begin.
A reason to continue.

Guitar lessons can fit a student who wants to accompany singing, play familiar songs, explore riffs, or simply discover a new hobby. Children, teens, and adults have different starting points; we discuss age, instrument size, goals, and available teachers before enrollment.

What you can expect

Support, structure, and small victories.

Progress is built through manageable repetition and thoughtful feedback. We help students understand what to practice and why, and we celebrate improvement in timing, tone, coordination, and confidence rather than comparing one musician with another.

Questions welcome

Starting is easier than you think.

Not sure where to begin? We're happy to help you decide what makes sense.

Do I need my own guitar?

Having access to an appropriately sized instrument for practice is helpful. Contact the studio for guidance before purchasing.

Is guitar good for beginners?

Absolutely. Lessons can begin with approachable rhythms, short melodies, and simple chords.

Are guitar lessons only for children?

No. We welcome teens and adults as well as younger students.

How does your progressive curriculum work?

Each lesson connects to previous skills and introduces an appropriate next step. Teachers review what has been learned, give specific feedback, and help students understand what to practice during the week. Pace and assignments are adapted to the individual student.
